Director of Marketing

We are looking for a seasoned marketing professional to establish and maintain a consistent, compelling brand message, giving EPS a strong and differentiated position in the market, work with outside agencies for Public Relations, and communicate the marketing message internally.

Role qualifications:

  • Proven ability to lead all areas of branding and marketing programs including: conceptualization, development, production, quality assurance, on-time delivery, and tracking results
  • Experience with all of the relevant marketing vehicles, including: corporate and product collateral, press releases, website management, outbound direct marketing and online marketing and webinars, as well as trade shows
  • Experience managing and directing the outside marketing and Public Relations plans
  • Experience communcating the marketing strategy internally, managing the marketing budget, tracking the effectiveness of marketing programs, and ensuring consistent, compelling brand messaging that will give the company a strong, differentiated position in the market and drive revenue growth

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and Public Relations plans
  • Develop the core branding and messaging for EPS and each of its product solutions
  • Work closely with the marketing agency and the relevant EPS product teams to develop the content for all printed and electronic-based marketing collateral. Includes corporate and product brochures, sell-sheets, case studies, white papers and FAQs
  • Work with the PR agency to produce and disseminate press releases for EPS, including pre-alerting relevant media contacts prior to the release and achieving visibility at key industry events
  • Develop and manage the website content, collaborating with the product / division managers to ensure the information is accurate, clear, and compelling (benefit-driven)
  • Lead EPS’s Internet marketing efforts, including search engine marketing. Work together with SEO expert/agency to ensure that EPS’ name and website appear foremost in the most relevant search terms, with particular focus on organic search. Monitor and evaluate spend per paid search term on an ongoing basis
  • Create and drive outbound direct mail and closed-loop online demand generation campaigns such as targeted e-mails and webinars; measure the results of each effort
  • Work with EPS product teams to develop ongoing demos and videos to demonstrate EPS’ capabilities to prospective customers via the web
  • Oversee all marketing activities related to trade shows and relevant industry events including booth design/execution, messaging, appropriate marketing collateral, Public Relations and “buzz” marketing
  • Implement one-to-one direct event marketing with appropriate C-level executives at target manufacturing companies
  • Ensure appropriate internal communication of marketing plans and programs to the Product, Sales, Service and Technical Support teams prior to execution
  • Monitor messaging / marketing tactics of primary competitors of EPS and incorporate that knowledge into EPS’ marketing efforts to maintain a unique position for EPS
  • Maintain marketing budget and status reports and communicate them regularly with executive team. Recommend shifts in allocation of marketing budget based on program effectiveness

Essential skills and Experience:

  • 10 – 15 years of relevant marketing experience with a minimum 5 years experience with direct and online business-to-business marketing
  • Proven ability to develop and implement brand and marketing strategies
  • Successful track record at demand generation and building brand awareness
  • Proven experience managing and evolving website content, “look-and-feel”, effectiveness and search engine optimization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage outside agencies
    • Ability to work with and obtain buy-in from Product Management and Sales teams and drive projects to successful completion
    • Proven ability to achieve marketing goals in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with commitment to on-time delivery
  • Must be a “hands-on” manager who takes ownership in lieu of delegating responsibilities
  • Experienced at and committed to regularly monitoring effectiveness of marketing programs and adjusting spend as needed to achieve desired marketing objectives
  • Excellent writing skills, strong interpersonal skills, and solid communication and presentation skills
  • Solid time management and organizational capabilities. Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, accurately estimate project length and deliver on deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing / business or communications
  • Ability to fluently read, write and speak professionally in English

Valued skills and Experience:

  • MBA preferred
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas strongly preferred:
    • Experience with marketing multiple services, energy solutions or Software as a Service (SaaS)
    • Business to Business (B2B) marketing, particularly with long sales-cycle products/services
    • Marketing to VP and C-level executives in the manufacturing sector
    • Energy industry experience
    • Software marketing experience
