Success Stories:

Energy Efficiency HVAC Project

As part of their corporate commitment to sustainable practices, a commercial real estate company with multiple office buildings contracted with EPS to implement a design/build HVAC project. The project involved the installation of chiller optimization controls and the ability to vary the discharge pressure of air cooled condensers. This project was subject to measurement and verification oversight by the local electric utility.

The net result: 15% electricity savings annually.

Energy Efficiency Lighting Controls and Retrofit Project

Under PG&E’s Integrated Audit program, EPS Corp performed an extensive energy analysis and calculated potential rebates for a lighting controls and retrofit project across six university campus buildings. The proposed lighting fixture types included T8, compact fluorescent, and efficient pulse start metal halide fixtures, which replaced the existing T12, incandescent and metal halide fixtures. Lighting control was achieved by installing occupancy sensors where possible.

The net result: 1,559,962 kWh of sustainable annual savings, 71 kW of Demand Response reduction potential, and $187,195 annual cost savings at current average bundled electric rates.

Energy Efficiency HVAC Project

A Los Angeles based non-profit full-service hospital and mental health center was seeking advice on how to reduce their energy usage across the facility. EPS Corp performed an extensive audit of the facility and identified areas of improvement for the existing aged chiller system. EPS recommended that one of the existing chillers be replaced by a much more efficient HVAC chiller, while one be left in place for continued redundancy and additional cooling. EPS analyzed and managed all aspects of the replacement including demolition, procurement, and commissioning.

The net result: 82,786 kWh sustainable annual savings.
