Success Stories:
Cogeneration Project
EPS Corp worked with a global medical device company to develop, manage, install, commission and operate two independent cogeneration plants to provide electrical and thermal power to a manufacturing campus. The plants provide medium pressure steam to the existing plant header and new integrated hot water loops to offset boiler load. Significant challenges mitigated by EPS on this project included stringent local sound ordinances and electrical grid interconnection design.
The net result: The plants generate approximately $250,000 in energy savings per month.

State of the Art Solar Installation
EPS Corp was contracted to implement a high efficiency solar project for a $10 billion global healthcare products facility in California. EPS designed and managed the installation of all of the solar panels and racking. EPS also installed a wide screen monitor that graphically displays the real time results of system performance, including the power generated at the current time, the equivalent environmental benefits, and even a visitor-friendly tutorial on solar photovoltaic systems. This project was one of the largest single solar-PV installations in California at the time it was installed. In addition, EPS secured a $672,000 rebate for the project from PG&E.
The net result: Over 350,000 kWh of sustainable annual savings and $42,000 annual cost savings at the current average bundled electric rates with a payback of less than three years.

Energy Efficiency Refrigeration Controls Upgrade
EPS Corp was hired by a global healthcare company to implement an extensive refrigeration controls project at one of their facilities. EPS provided the controls interface and Operator Interface Terminal programming for a warehouse refrigeration upgrade, which added two new compressors and condensers to this mission critical facility. EPS installed variable speed drives on the condenser fans to respond to controls programming set points, which minimizes energy consumption.
The net result: The company has improved monitoring and management of the refrigeration systems and is now operating with greater efficiency.
