Utilities

Success Stories:
PG&E and SCE Automated Demand Response (Auto DR) Projects
EPS Corp installed Auto-DR controls resulting in more than 18 MW of demand reduction across the state of California. Auto-DR controls were installed to automatically shut down equipment based on a signal from the utility. As a result, the utilities are able to reduce their peak load demands, while their participating customers are able to reduce their energy costs through lower utility rates. Clients included Schnitzer Steel, Praxair, Fleetwood, Sully Miller, Grower’s Ice and Aaron Industries.
The net result: 18 MW of combined demand reduction.
PG&E Non-Residential New Construction (NRNC) Projects
PG&E selected EPS Corp to perform third party analysis of Architectural and Engineering (A&E) designs for new construction to determine if they were eligible for rebate funding under the Non-Residential New Construction (statewide Savings By Design) program. EPS successfully completed the analysis on multiple facilities utilizing cold storage and conditioned air spaces and has many on-going projects as well. We have analyzed over 50 NRNC projects since 2005 with clients that include: Ghirardelli Chocolate, Morningstar Foods, Oxy, Don Sebastiani Winery, George Chiala Farms, Saintsbury Winery, Aranda’s Tortilla, Cintas Laundry and Trinchero Winery.
The net result: 8.5 million kWh of combined sustainable annual savings and over $1 million of annual cost savings at current average bundled electric rates.
Boiler System Upgrades and Heat Recovery in Thermal Systems
EPS Corp has worked with Southern California Gas Company to help their customers reduce their thermal energy consumption by auditing, analyzing, recommending and implementing a wide range of energy efficiency measures. These include O2 trim, optimal boiler sequencing, installing waste heat recovery economizers, and creating efficient hydronic systems. In addition, we helped many of these customers to take advantage of available rebates. These customers include City of Rialto, Swift Meats, Fresh Start Bakery, Guardian Glass, Chevron, and Oakley
The net result: Significant ongoing energy savings for the participating Southern California Gas Company customers.
